I turned 47 a few days ago. I'm not an old man just yet, but in less than three years I'll turn 50. I have less time on this earth than I had ten years ago. I see my body getting older each day. I feel time growing shorter because that is the natural course. My thoughts are always in Heaven. Even though I can't fully comprehend the Glory that G-D has waiting for HIS children, I see it like this:

It's like walking out of a dark room into a room filled with light. Right now all I can see is light coming from under the door. Someday that door will burst open and what waits is beyond understanding: My true home.

I realize I'm only a stranger passing through this earth. I always will be. But in G-D's Eternal Kingdom I will find my true home where I belong forever.

G-D Bless, you, sister.

Shalom and blessings.

Great post on this issue, however there is another major reason that people don't follow God and that is that the religious leaders and followers are setting such a bad example to others that people simply say "if that is God I don't want anything to do with him".

Matthew chapter 23 lists many woes against the Pharisees but they are also appropriate to todays leaders and if you read it you will see that many of the things they do today are exactly what Christ said not to do.

We are told to let our light shine:

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

(Mat 5:16)

Yet too often the example set makes people cringe rather than rejoice.
